Oh Baby the Places You Ll Go Baby Shower Invitations
Oh, The Baby Yous'll Abound!
A infant shower inspired past the Dr. Seuss book, "Oh, The Places You lot'll Become!"
This Dr. Seuss babe shower is actress special because it was for my own baby! My husband, Warren, and I both loved Dr. Seuss books growing up and we thought it'd exist a perfect theme for the celebration of our first kid. Without wanting to be too kitschy or overdone with ruby Cat-In-The-Hat stripes, nosotros opted for a gender neutral pastel theme inspired by "Oh, The Places You'll Go!" From in that location, "Oh, The Baby You'll Grow!" was born!
Since we don't know the babe's gender, it was important for us to accept a neutral theme with colors that could piece of work for either a boy or daughter. The pastels of lavender, light greens, muted pinks, and aqua, all worked perfectly!
The Invitation: I was able to custom blueprint these graphics and input our wording to match the book's font. In truthful Dr. Seuss style, the invitation followed a fun rhyming style.
"The infant in Amber'southward belly – It sure grew! – Bring together the happy parents – Earlier they are due.
We'll have snacks, sweets, and drinks – Plus fun games to play – While nosotros celebrate – Their little baby on the mode!
The babe'south gender – Will remain a surprise – This political party is for – The girls AND the guys
I small request – From your shelf or your nook – Instead of a card – Please bring a book
Whether information technology'southward new – Or pre-loved and worn – Nosotros'll read information technology all the fourth dimension – Once the baby is born
The Card Cottage graciously printed these invites on a thick weighted paper that brought out all the vibrant colors.
The Venue: The Confidante Miami Embankment was the perfect location for this "Oh, The Places You lot'll Go" infant shower. Their newly built Carmen Miranda ballroom has a soft aesthetic and aureate modern accents, with colors that worked perfectly for our baby shower theme. The fun patterns and fixtures fabricated the room feel fifty-fifty more Seuss-y!
The Sign-In: Guests signed a re-create of "Oh, The Places You'll Go" and left their well wishes for infant.
The Entertainment: Upshot Factor came through with the best emcee and photograph booth to add all sorts of fun elements to our wedding. The fun photograph berth had so many baby-related props and the prints incorporated our invitation theme to tie everything together!
The Linens: Recent Linens provided the satin linens for our guest tables. Manu helped us pick the perfect matching colors: lilac, tiffany, celery, and chroma satins which absolute our centerpieces perfectly.
The Decor: I wanted something fragile, yet Seuss-y for this "Oh, The Places You'll Go!" baby shower. To me, that meant having whimsical, loose, and wild centerpieces balanced with playful colors and words that fit our Dr. Seuss theme. Xquisite Events created the well-nigh dreamy decor: from the custom wrapped boxes that used our invitation images and designs from the book, to the funky and fun styrene balls that topped the white pedestals. And talk most funky flowers! Todd, the designer, put together all sorts of wild flowers that were direct out of a Dr. Seuss volume!
The Yummies: Wanting a coincidental feel equally if we had our closest friends and family over for a brunch, we served an assortment of sandwiches and wraps, with chips, fruit platter, and tons of delicious desserts! My Favorite Sweets Favors made the most scrumptious melted chocolate covered Oreos cookies with our respective baby shower colors! They looked nearly too pretty to eat… merely residue assured, they were all devoured! Along with those sweets, there were brownie bites, sugar cookies, and more.
The Games: So if you lot know me, you know I love a adept excuse to get any party completely themed out. This meant our games had to be fun for a co-ed group, but besides stay true to our "Oh, The Places You'll Go" infant shower. Of course, the games all had rhymes and fun songs to match!
One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, New Fish The first game was an ode to Dr. Seuss's "One Fish, 2 Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish". Instead, we swapped "bluish" for "new" and included a Dr. Seuss graphic symbol infant fish. The goal was for guests to guess how many Swedish Fish were in the basin and the tricky part was that they were contrasted sizes from mini to colossal. The bodily count: 532!
Yum or Yuck:The adjacent game had guests guessing what the mystery flavors of baby nutrient were.
" Take a whiff, or a gustation if you're braver! Have a look at what's in the jars and gauge the babe food flavor!"
Most of the guests opted to attempt the flavors that were far from norm (kiwi-carrot-pear) and the vast majority decided to simply odor some "unique"-smelling jars (turkey). We played Weird Al Yankovich'south "Swallow it!" vocal which garnered lots of laughs. As a tie-breaker for right answers, the guests had to eat the remaining baby food in the turkey jar. He was a gnaw and chugged it! For a fun bonus, Warren and I got to guess the flavors equally well.
Bottle Chugging: The DJ asked everyone to participate in a chugging contest to "wash out" the taste of the gross baby foods they just tried. Petty did the guests know, they'd be chugging apple juice from a baby'southward bottle! Everyone got involved (both young and old), nonetheless some guests decided to crook the system and unscrew their bottle top… which led to a very short competition! Nosotros had the DJ play a not-so-child-friendly version of a song that included the lyrics "shots".
Baby Booty or Boobs & Beer Belly or Pregnant Belly:Again, we promised our guests some fun games. This involved thumbnail images of either a babe booty or a woman'south breasts and the next menu was either a pregnant belly or a beer abdomen. Our guests could non finish laughing at how ridiculous (and difficult) this game was to figure out. Tin can you lot guess what songs we selected for the groundwork music of this game? "Baby Got Back" and "My Humps"!
Dad I Am or Mom I Am: Playing off the Green Eggs & Ham verbiage of "Sam I Am", this game was a trivia sail for guests to guess whether the question pertained to the Mom to be or Dad to be. Justin Bieber's infamous vocal, "Baby" played during this game.
Horton Smells A Poo: The volume, "Horton Hears a Who" helped us come up with this fun game name. This baby shower game brought 5 diapers to each table, all with melted candies inside to expect like "poo".
"Open up the diaper, have your sniffer handy, don't worry it's non real… guess the melted candy!"
Some guests were brave and decided to taste the melted chocolates, but others relied on their noses to decipher what was within. The diapers independent everything from dark chocolate KitKats to Heath Bars. The tie billow diaper was a melted Butterfinger and the brave guess-er got it right… by tasting information technology! The vocal played was "Hollaback Daughter", because… well… there's a chorus that talks about, you know. ($*%T)
The Belly: Playing off of "The Lorax", The Belly game had guests guessing how big my abdomen was. It was a lot of fun walking around and looking at all the answers (I didn't know my ain measurement until all the guesses were in!) My sister-in-law guessed the exact amount – 40 inches! The DJ played "I'm Too Sexy" as I walked around rubbing my belly to assist with guesses.
The Fun Stuff: Nosotros loved that nosotros could incorporate guest favors as a applied utilize during the wedding ceremony. These custom koozies were printed past Delcast Designs and they were SO adorable!
The Photographer: I trusted the oh-and so-fabled and fun photographer, Naomi, with Sugariness Memories Photography to capture our special solar day. She got photos of some seriously hilarious and moments, along with some really special portraits and so we can remember this day forever!
The Look: My gorgeous pastel apparel was custom designed by Dora Sasu. It matched our invitations perfectly and was super comfy, which is a total must for any preggo! My hair and makeup stylist was Tashy Marie Makeup and I could not have felt any more cute than I did that mean solar day! She gave a whole new meaning to "pregnancy glow".
